As you might have heard, West Ham United made a move to try and sign Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa in recent days, but didn’t get anywhere.

The news came from Gianluca Di Marzio, who made it clear the Serie A side had rejected every attempt made by the Hammers, and that isn’t going to change.

This is what La Voce Rossoblu are reporting, explaining that ‘the phone keeps ringing’ for the West Ham target, but no offer has been made as of yet.

Therefore, any claims the London side had put money on the table are ‘committing an inaccuracy’, meaning they aren’t true.

As things stand, the forward wants to finish the season with his current club, and that’s exactly what the Serie A side want.

The website point out that ‘unless there is a really important offer’, they will ‘not step back’ from this stance, having already cashed in nicely on Radu Dragușin, who was sold to England for around €30m.

Thus, they aren’t in need of money, and would rather keep their other stars for the foreseeable future, at least until they know they are safe from relegation to Serie B, currently sitting seven points clear of the relegation zone after 19 games.
