Philippe Coutinho is officialy free to play for Brazil.
Despite having missed the first games of the season for Liverpool due to his back injury, the player is now said to be ready to work for the national team later this week.
As reported by UOL, instead of going from São Paulo to Porto Alegre this morning, Liverpool’s Coutinho had a stop in Rio de Janeiro to visit a doctor he trusts.
This doctor, Michel Simoni, spoke to UOL after the exams, and made it clear the player’s problem is not only physical.
“It’s an emotional, stress issue,” Simoni told UOL. “For all pressure and uncertainty about the future. Something normal. Clinically, however, he is clear. He can join the national team, train, play…”
Globo Esporte had already reported that the national team staff expected Coutinho to join the squad and be ready to train and play, since many in Brazil believes he’s been out of Liverpool’s matches due to his transfer situation.
Brazil will play Ecuador hours after the transfer window will be closed, so that will tell a lot about the pain the Liverpool player has been feeling.
