Manchester City are reportedly preparing a €20m offer for the Sporting goalkeeper Rui Patrício.
The information was published in Wednesday’s edition of A Bola, who say the signing is a personal ask from Pep Guardiola.
That’s something which is becoming usual in the Portuguese press. An English club shows interest, the selling side set a price and then the offer with the exact amount shows up.
City’s interest in Patrício has been reported for a few weeks now, and yesterday we covered a story from the very same A Bola saying Sporting wanted €20m for the keeper. And today, there’s this.
Despite the claims of the offer, A Bola’s article is bascially repeating what they already said yesterday. Patrício would only leave for a very big club, which would be the case for Manchester City, and now they wait to see what will happen.
The 28-year-old keeps training hard and showing commitment to Sporting, but the club are already preparing themselves in case he leaves. That’s why they’ve been keeping an eye on Benoit Costil from Rennes and Salvatore Sirigu from PSG.
