Manchester City are reportedly aware of how much they would have to pay to take goalkeeper Ederson from Benfica.
According to O Jogo today, the Portuguese side will be demanding at least €40m for the transfer. They can rely on the player’s €60m release clause to negotiate that amount.
Manchester City would be competing with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, or so say the Portuguese newspaper.
O Jogo reiterates that Pep Guardiola was impressed with Ederson’s performance against Bayern Munich last year, and became even more convinced after his saves against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
If you’ve read our article about Ederson last night, you’re probably thinking that O Jogo are basically saying the same thing here. Even the price we guessed is the one they mention.
The €40m figure may be the obvious amount for Ederson and if Guardiola feels the player is Manchester City’s answer, then it’s not too prohibitive a price.
