Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet have spoken to Andreas Christensen’s father Sten about claims the defender could be used in a deal to tempt Southampton to sell Virgil van Dijk to Chelsea.
Sten Christensen rubbished it, and Ekstra Bladet say, as far as he’s concerned, such a deal would be impossible. At the bottom of their article, Ekstra Bladet link several clubs, as if to give a clear example of the level they believe the 21 year old is at.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all linked, with it being stated Pep Guardiola ‘is a big fan’. The Manchester City manager is said to have had his ‘love’ for the player confirmed when his side faced Borussia Monchengladbach this season
However, Guardiola and Manchester City would find any deal very difficult, because it’s thought Chelsea won’t sell to a direct rival in the Premier League. One thing is for sure, the Christensens aren’t going to stand back and let Chelsea do as they please, using the player as a barter tool in deals for others.
