Sporting captain Adrien Silva is continually linked with a move away from the club this summer.
As reported by A Bola newspaper today, the midfielder is still ‘on the English clubs’ radar’ after a failed move to Leicester City at the start of the season.
At that time, Adrien Silva even gave an interview revealing his wish to join Leicester, but his departure was stopped by Sporting, who demanded his full release clause.
It’s not mentioned how much the Portuguese side would ask this time, although it’s very likely they will keep pushing for the €45m.
Leicester City were recently mentioned as a club who are still interested in the midfielder, although contacts with Sporting haven’t been reported since the transfer of Islam Slimani last summer.
Everton and Southampton have recently been linked to the player as well, and were reportedly told to pay €40m, something that sounds highly unlikely.
With a contract until 2020, Silva turned 28 this year, so this should be one of his last opportunities to move to a top league. His career is currently managed by agent Jonathan Barnett, who has some considerable influence in the Premier League, which could be beneficial for Leicester City and others.
