We’re going to miss El Dia once the Juan Foyth situation is over, whether the defender ends up at Tottenham or not.
The Argentine newspaper have faithfully reported on Tottenham’s potential signing since before many now claiming scoops even knew Foyth existed.
Plotting a way through the murky transfer waters, El Dia have, almost from day one, insisted Tottenham is Foyth’s first choice, and explained the difficulties in a proposed transfer.
As the French and English media were giving Foyth up to PSG as an imminent signing, El Dia were explaining a possible late change in the situation.
Now they sound like they want it all over.
The newspaper report we’re in the ‘final hours’ of Foyth’s transfer story, and that Tottenham and Estudiantes have started exchanging documents.
Tottenham will pay just over €13m, but it’s not thought Estudiantes will get all of that… another reason why the transfer has been so complicated.
Everything is taking a little bit longer, and all the paperwork has to be exchanged, and confirmed before Estudiantes will let Foyth fly to London. The Argentine club don’t want the transfer collapsing at the last minute.
Therefore, the player potentially travelling on Tuesday has turned into him potentially travelling on Thursday.
Diario Hoy, another Argentine newspaper, report everything is advanced, but not closed yet, and there’s a little hesitation to confirm things to the media because of what happened with PSG.
Should this one finally get over the line, Juan Foyth will be Tottenham’s second signing this summer, after Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.
