Valencia are casting their eye towards Manchester City youngster Pablo Maffeo.
The 20 year old is receiving some positive attention since joining FC Girona on loan, and Super Deporte believe much of that has come from Valencia.
Looking for a player in the mould of Maffeo, Valencia have, according to the Spanish newspaper, held some kind of outline talks with Manchester City. The purpose of the contact was to find out the conditions for signing Maffeo, and Super Deporte don’t then rule the transfer out.
Valencia are now ‘aware of the conditions’, and surely aware that Manchester City are quite happy with the youngster being at their partner club Girona, somewhere he’s quickly settled in, and somewhere they have control over him.
Super Deporte suggest that with a Manchester City contract ending in 2019, and no option exercised as of yet, plus the competition under Pep Guardiola, a move could be possible.
Manchester City would likely only consider a sale, even next summer, if it gave them a buyback option down the road, and even that may be surprising.
