Loaned to Hertha Berlin for the season, Mattéo Guendouzi is expected to return to Arsenal in the coming weeks.
The Frenchman enjoyed himself in Germany, but there will be no permanent transfer, meaning the Gunners will need to decide what they want to do with their player.
The problem there is that Guendouzi and Mikel Arteta don’t exactly get on, and the general consensus is that an exit is expected, this time for good.
Marseille in France, who still haven’t fully replaced Morgan Sanson, are reportedly interested, and La Provence, normally very reliable when it comes to the Ligue 1 side, believe there’s a chance of something happening.
Looking at the Gerson situation, as the French club look to the Brazilian to please Jorge Sampaoli with a big transfer, they add ‘optimism prevails’ in that deal, which is ‘the same’ feeling ‘for Mattéo Guendouzi’, whom Arsenal ‘want to part ways with’.
No fee is attached to a potential deal, but considering Arsenal paid Lorient around €8m to get him in the first place, you would think they would want more than that, perhaps double, to part ways with him, even if they don’t particularly want him around in the first place.
