Mundo Deportivo, being a Catalan newspaper, would quite like Tottenham to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League, so it’s with some glee they’re reporting potential injury problems at the Spanish club.
Keylor Navas has been a doubt since he returned from international duty with Costa Rica, and Mundo Deportivo say he’s now ‘almost certainly’ out of the match against Mauricio Pochettino’s side next week.
After tests on Wednesday, Real Madrid released a statement which confirms Navas is likely to be out against Getafe and Tottenham, with an injury to his right leg.
Twisting the knife further, Mundo Deportivo say Navas missing the Getafe match, and the higher profile Tottenham game, is an example of Real Madrid’s injury woes this season.
A growing list of players have been unavailable for Zinedine Zidane at various points this season, and it’s all contributed to Madrid’s difficult start to the season.
