Only one offer for defender after leaving Celtic, and Sunderland player considering exit

Costa Rica are in the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup, facing Mexico, which will provide an opportunity for some of their players to attract attention.

Teletica in the country report several of the squad have very uncertain futures, one of the main ones being Cristian Gamboa.

The defender’s contract with Celtic expires this summer and he’s leaving the Scottish Premiership club. Having joined in 2016, the 29 year old didn’t impress as much as he’d have hoped.

Right now, with a day left of his Celtic deal, he only has a single offer. That’s from FC Copenhagen, and it sounds like the free agent is waiting for more approaches.

Bryan Oviedo is another of the Costa Rica squad who doesn’t know what he’ll be doing after the Gold Cup. He has a year left on his Sunderland contract but Teletica say he’s considering his future and a move away from the club.

Just like Celtic’s Gamboa, the Sunderland player has been the subject of FC Copenhagen rumours.
