José Fonte may return Southampton this summer.
That’s said by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, who claims that the player is currently evaluating some offers he has in hands.
Fonte, who left Bragaat the end of the season, is still analysing whether he’ll play for one more year.
The outlet writes that he has four offers on the table. That’s three from Portugal and one from England. One of them is from Estoril, who could convince him to be on the pitch for another season.
Regarding Southampton, the newspaper doesn’t make it very clear whether he could be signed as a player or have another position.
The outlet points out that with the Saints back in the Premier League, they ‘might want to offer some kind of role’ to ‘one of their recent legends’. It’s just not clarified whether that would be now or after a last season with him in the squad.
Fonte played for Southampton between 2010 and 2017, and they’re still the club he has more appearances for, with 288 games played. He then moved to Crystal Palace, West Ham United, DL Yifand, LOSC Lille and finally Braga, where he played last season.
