In the past week, with a report claiming Brazil were in touch for the signing of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, we’ve seen several stories about this possibility.
Most responses turned down the chances for now, but since the subject is still fresh, it was now time for the manager himself to be questioned about it.
Pep Guardiola was interviewed on Monday by Argentine outlet Telemundo, and was asked if he’s take charge of a national team after he leaves Manchester City.
It turns out the coach has now admitted to this desire, even though he’s not ready for it yet.
“One day yes. I thought, when I leave Manchester City to lead a national team, but I would not like to choose it immediately,” said Guardiola (via Olé).
It’s been a long time since Brazil started being linked to Guardiola, as the rumours date back to the time he left Barcelona.
Now since manager Tite confirmed he’s leaving the job after the World Cup, it’s likely that the Manchester City boss will be one of the names in the list.
However, Argentina also seem to be interested in that subject, and could perhaps join that battle for him as well.
