AS Roma will want to make sales in the next transfer window in order to finance signings which could include Chris Smalling and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on permanent deals.
The pair were loaned from Manchester United and Arsenal during the summer window, and have both managed to impress manager Paulo Fonseca. However, they won’t be cheap which means sales will need to be planned in advance.
One those who could be a ‘sacrifice’ for Roma is Cengiz Under, and he also happens to be one of the many Serie A players linked with Everton in recent months.
Corriere dello Sport say Under could move to the Premier League in the next market, with ‘especially Ancelotti’s Everton’ interested in him.
The 22 year old has been playing mainly on the right wing for Roma this season, and has scored three goals in 15 Serie A matches so far this season.
Speaking to the Turkish media, and quoted by Corriere dello Sport, Under has spoken about a big future for himself: “I don’t think I’m a top player, I have to work hard to become one. But one day I will be a star.”
Could that be at Everton? There’s a reasonable chance if the Toffees move for him, given Roma’s situation.
