According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are showing interest in Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill.

The 29-year-old will be out of contract with the Clarets in the summer, with no signs of an imminent renewal.

Fotospor today report the Burnley man is on Besiktas’ radar as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season. It’s claimed the Super Lig side have already contacted Brownhill’s agent in order to get a better understanding of what the midfielder’s salary demands would be.

The Turkish media outlet also report Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær has given his approval for the transfer as he looks to bring in his own players during the next window.

Solskjær only arrived at the Istanbul club late into the last transfer window, so didn’t have the required time to recruit in the positions that he wants to strengthen.

Besiktas should expect to face competition to sign Brownhill with a number of UK clubs said to be monitoring his situation.

Brownhill made 44 appearances for Burnley last season, scoring an impressive 18 goals.
