Fotomac report Besiktas have submitted their offer for Aston Villa’s Lovre Kalinic, who won’t renew his loan contract with Toulouse.
Previous reports in the Turkish press linked Kalinic to Besiktas, and the Croatian goalkeeper will return to Aston Villa after the French Ligue 1 came to a premature halt.
Besiktas are in the market for an experienced goalkeeper after Loris Karius returned to Liverpool last month.
It’s claimed that Besiktas have held talks with the 30 year old’s entourage but it seems Villa’s demands are causing difficulties for the Super Lig club. Fotomac also say their primary aim is to sign a Turkish goalkeeper because of the foreign player quota.
Fulham’s Fabri has also been linked with the position, so the it’s clear the Turkish idea isn’t exclusive.
Kalinic joined Aston Villa in 2019 from Belgian side Genk for €6m but he failed to cement a first-team place in Dean Smith’s side this season. Subsequently he headed to France on a loan deal in January.
He’s under contract with the Premier League club until June 2023.
