It’s no secret that Roma are about to announce the signing of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea. The player landed in Italy on Sunday and is now sorting the final issues before making the move to the Giallorossi.
There’s been many stories on how much the Serie A side are spending on the striker, and to close that subject, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio now features a story with all the details about it.
It’s claimed that the transfer will cost as much as €40m, depending on performance bonuses.
Roma are initially paying Chelsea €5m this summer, then €20m by 2024 and a final amount of €15m in the 2024/25 season.
Gianluca Di Marzio says Abraham will have a salary of €4.5m net (€5.8m gross) per season at Roma. Chelsea will still have a buy-back clause of €80m, which can only be used after the summer of 2023.
It’s claimed that Abraham had offers from the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and West Ham, but Roma managed to win the race due to director Tiago Pinto and ‘the support’ from José Mourinho.
