Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Mahmoud Dahoud is set to return to the club in the summer, according to claims from Germany.
Bild claims that even though VfB Stuttgart have a €10m buying option over him, they will not use it and will go their ‘separate ways’ at the end of the season.
The outlet writes that the Brighton loanee had ‘too little influence’ at the Bundesliga side since his arrival in January, ‘so now it’s clear’ he’s not staying there.
The midfielder had very little playing time in these few months, with just 129 minutes in 12 appearances so far.
Dahoud even managed to take part in all of Stuttgart’s matches since his arrival, but is clearly not managing to earn a starting spot in the team.
The Syrian-German player has a contract with Brighton running until 2027, so the Seagulls shall have to find a new solution for him in the summer.
He only had few chances to play for the Premier League side this season, and it would be no surprise if Roberto De Zerbi lets him move away again, maybe even on a permanent deal.
