On Thursday, reports from Portugal claimed that SC Braga turned down an offer from Nottingham Forest for Matheus Magalhães.
Journalist Pedro Sepulveda said the Reds put €4.5m plus bonuses on the table, and that was immediately rejected.
On their website, outlet O Jogo pointed out Braga didn’t even think much of Nottingham Forest’s offer. Now in today’s newspaper, they claim this chase is probably not over.
The outlet features a piece claiming that the pursuit of Matheus ‘might have new chapters’, as they haven’t given up on the signing yet.
A good reason for Nottingham Forest to carry on is that the player may be attracted to the chance of moving to the Premier League.
The report says Matheus was ‘not insensitive’ to the offer, which ‘seems to seduce’ him.
The problem will always be the agreement with Braga, as O Jogo claim the Portuguese club will ask for a ‘much more generous load’ from Nottingham Forest.
The report says the Tricky Trees’ initial bid was of €4.5m plus €1.5m in bonuses. So we now wait and see how much more they can put on the table.
