Sitting fourth in the Championship after 28 games, Nottingham Forest are well on their way to secure a playoff spot and remain in the race for an automatic promotion spot with 18 games to go.
Sabri Lamouchi has done wonders at City Ground since his appointment, but with the knowledge that a good push could see his team challenge Leeds United and West Brom for one of the first two spots, it seems he feels reinforcements are needed.
To do that, he’s turned his attention to France, a league he knows well, and targeted two players.
Their names are Nuno Da Costa and Farid Boulaya, and they play for Strasbourg and FC Metz respectively.
This is according to France Football, who report that Nottingham Forest have already made an offer for the former of around €2m, and both sides are ‘close to an agreement’.
Down the player’s end, the Cape Verde international has already agreed a three and a half year contract with the Championship side.
As for Boulaya, talks are underway for a loan with a view to buy for the 26-year-old, who is contracted to Metz until 2022.
So, Da Costa is more advanced than the Algerian for now, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for any updates going forward.
