When French outlet L’Equipe reported on Wednesday that AS Monaco made an offer for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo, it seemed that could be something for Nottingham Forest to be concerned about.

It’s no secret the Brazilian club are interested in Monaco’s Jean Lucas, so in case the French side placed an attractive bid including the player in a swap, that could be enough for an agreement.

However, as Goal Brasil now shares an update on the situation, they claim Nottingham Forest still lead the race for Danilo.

It’s said the player’s move to the City Ground is ‘advancing’, as despite the two bids on the table, the one from the Tricky Trees ‘pleases the most’.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly offering £18m, and that matches Palmeiras’ request. Goal Brasil don’t bring details about Monaco’s bid, but according to L’Equipe, it’s worth €13m plus Jean Lucas.

If selling Danilo, Palmeiras will need a replacement for the position, and that’s where Jean Lucas comes in. But nothing would stop them from selling their player to Nottingham Forest and then using part of the money to sign the other one from Monaco.
