On August 8th, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Nottingham Forest have ‘contacts ongoing’ to sign Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson.
Three days later, Akşam explained that the defender has been ready to accept a transfer after the Tricky Trees made an offer of €18m plus €4m bonuses.
Takvim now state the Istanbul club have rejected the offer and have asked Nottingham Forest to return with an improved bid.
It’s claimed Steve Cooper’s side have knocked on the Turkish champions’ door again. This time, they have raised their proposal by €1m. There’s no clarity whether this increase is a further €1m on the fixed fee of €18m or is €1m more in bonuses.
Either way, the new offer still doesn’t convince Galatasaray to sanction the 24-year-old’s sale just yet. The Denmark international has a €25m release clause and the report states they are insisting this price be paid to part ways with the player.
Earlier in the window, several claims from the Turkish press had talked about Tottenham Hotspur interest in Nelsson. Takvim state Galatasaray rejected Spurs’ €15m bid for the Dane.
