Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch in the January transfer window after growing frustrated with Divock Origi.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say Ducksch is on the list at the City Ground, and they are ‘really hot’ about a possible move.
The newspaper explains that Forest are unhappy with Origi, who signed from AC Milan, having used him for just 59 minutes this season.
They want a replacement as a result and Ducksch is the man they are looking at after his impressive performances for Bremen this season.
He’s been the best German striker in 2023, with 14 goals in 30 games over the course of this year… only bettered by Harry Kane and Serhou Guirassy.
That’s been earning him plenty of praise as well as a call-up to the Germany squad and now Nottingham Forest are eyeing up a move.
They’re aware that Bremen need sales as they closed the financial year with a loss of €3.8m and are dependent on high sales to help balance the books. They already sold Niclas Füllkrug to Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and they think they can collect a similar figure for Ducksch.
A move is also seen as attractive for the striker, particularly on an economic level as he currently earns €2m a year and could double that in England.
Whether Nottingham Forest are willing to spend and offer him such wages remains to be seen but the insistence from SportBILD is that they are ‘really hot’ for the striker at this point.
