On Thursday morning, we covered a report from Tutto Mercato Web which said Nottingham Forest and Atalanta were ‘very close’ to an agreement for the transfer of Remo Freuler.
It was claimed the Reds had put on the table an offer worth €7m, and with the Serie A side demanding €10m, they were ‘not far’ from an agreement, especially because the player’s entourage were already in contacts with the English club.
Now it turns out that Tutto Mercato Web is back with an update on this case, this time claiming Nottingham Forest are ‘one step’ from signing Freuler.
The reason for that is the Reds raised their offer to the €10m demanded by Atalanta, so the white smoke is said to be ‘around the corner’.
Freuler has been playing for Atalanta since 2016, when he joined them from Swiss side Luzern. With the club progressing in the past few years, his potential followed their growth, along with his market value.
He had just signed a new contract with the Italian side in May, but with Nottingham Forest now reaching the price for his sale, it’s time for him to say goodbye and move to the Premier League.
