With Brazilian clubs now feeling more encouraged to go after Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa, things seem to finally be moving in the race for him.
The freshest story on this pursuit now comes from UOL, who says Flamengo and Atletico Mineiro have ‘similar offers’ made for the midfielder.
It’s said there’s the sensation on Scarpa’s side that a ‘deal is close’ for his permanent departure from Nottingham Forest.
UOL claims that the ‘hardest part’ is now an agreement with the Tricky Trees, who have been demanding €6m for the sale.
It’s reported that Atletico Mineiro offered €4.5m, and their football director said this week that they won’t join an auction for him.
Still, they seem to have a ‘small advantage’, at least according to Goal Brasil. It’s claimed there are two factors that attract Scarpa there: the smaller competition for a place in the team and the presence of manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
With the player now accepting the idea of returning to Brazil, it’s time for Nottingham Forest to sit and analyse the offers that are slowly arriving for his sale.
