Earlier on Friday, we covered an article stating that Nottingham Forest were taking an interest in AS Roma’s Roger Ibañez.
Well, Gazzetta dello Sport go a step further than that report, and reveal that the Tricky Trees have already made an offer for the Brazilian defender.
They describe the timing of this offer from Nottingham Forest as ‘perfect’, as it arrives at a time when AS Roma were desperately ‘scrambling to find money’ to buy a new forward, as they target Marcos Leonardo, currently contracted to Santos.
The bid from Steve Cooper’s side ‘has arrived’ and is said to be of €25m, which is close to the valuation that the Serie A side had put in place for their player.
That’s why, ‘if there are no obstacles’, then the ‘negotiations could close quickly’, and that could lead the Italians to then go on the market to try and find another low cost defender to replace him.
Either way, Nottingham Forest have made a bid for the Brazil international and could be on the verge of securing their latest signing after the paid arrivals of Anthony Elanga and Chris Wood.
