Unless you watch Ligue 2 on Friday evenings and Saturdays, the name Silas Wamangituka will mean absolutely nothing to you, but it’s one Nottingham Forest and Newcastle fans might have to start keeping an eye on.
The reason we say this is because both the Championship and Premier League clubs have been scouting the 19-year-old, according to Téléfoot, who has taken France’s second-tier by storm.
Making his debut back towards the end of August, the youngster gradually made his way into the first team at Paris FC, where he has started regularly since October 26th.
With four goals and an assist in his last eight games, Wamangituka has attracted a lot of interest from France and abroad, with scouts from Nottingham Forest and Newcastle among those travelling ‘for the past few weeks’ to watch him in action.
They aren’t the only ones from outside of France, as Olympiakos, Fiorentina and Schalke 04 have also come to have a look.
Of course, scouts keeping an eye on potentially exciting talents is nothing new, so that doesn’t mean Forest and the Magpies will make a move, yet it’s definitely a sign the youngster has caught their attention.
We doubt anything will happen in January, but if Wamangituka continues his current form during the second half of the season, his name might be one we see more regularly going forward.
