Nottingham Forest have made an attempt to sign Guido Rodriguez from Real Betis, according to claims from Spain.

ABC Sevilla writes that the Tricky Trees, in the ‘past few hours’, placed a bid to sign the 29-year-old.

The story claims Nottingham Forest’s offer was turned down by Betis, as it’s ‘very far’ from what the club would consider selling him for.

It’s said the offer was below €10m. Previous reports from France had claimed that the La Liga side demand €12m for his transfer.

A reason Nottingham Forest may have offered so little is that Rodriguez has just entered the final year of his contract with Betis.

That means the club may lose him for free next summer, and despite their attempts to get his deal renewed, there’s been no success so far.

Rodriguez’s agents are said to be ‘moving his name’ through the market, so they seem pretty interested in getting a summer transfer.

That’s why Betis will listen to the bids, but Nottingham Forest will need to do better than that to get him signed.
