It seems that Nottingham Forest have lost the race for Braga midfielder Nikola Vukcevic.
The Portuguese press brings mixed claims about the player today, as he’s been involved in a big controversy right at the start of the season.
The 26-year-old has been fined by Braga for not greeting fans in the friendly match against Newcastle. That’s why yesterday, club president Antonio Salvador explained that he “did not respect the club’s values”.
The events only led him to an exit, and that’s where the papers disagree. Although Jornal de Notícias says that Nottingham Forest are the ‘most interested club’ in signing him, newspapers Record and Correio da Manhã claim that he’s off to Spanish side Levante.
These outlets write that the player is joining the La Liga side on a €8m deal, which is already done.
The amount is the one that has been reportedly asked by Braga, €10m.
So we see three possibilities here: either Forest didn’t have the money for this deal; or they couldn’t negotiate to lower the initial demands; or they weren’t interested anyway.
