Nottingham Forest have included SSC Bari star Walid Cheddira in their transfer target list.
The striker initially joined the Serie B side from Parma on a loan deal in 2021 and had a role in helping them get promoted to the second division.
This term, he has impressed for the Italian club and is currently Serie B’s top scorer with nine goals from 12 matches. He has also managed five assists in the league and scored five goals in cup competitions.
Sky Italia, relayed by Area Napoli, claim the Morocco international’s ‘exciting start’ to this season has caught the attention of Nottingham Forest and a few others. In Italy, Lazio and Napoli have taken an interest in signing him.
From abroad, it’s claimed Steven Cooper’s side and Sporting ‘like’ the 25-year-old. That’s about the only piece of information mentioned about the Tricky Trees.
Bari have set a price tag between €6-7m on the frontman. Nottingham Forest or any club interested in securing Cheddira’s services will have to wait until next summer because Bari have postponed transfer talks to the end of this campaign.
Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis’ son, Luigi, owns Bari. Therefore, Sky claim this will put the Naples club in a good position, if they are keen to sign the player.
