Nottingham Forest ‘have inquired’ about Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, who wants to leave the German side.

That’s according to Sky Germany, relayed by Fussball Transfers, who say Nottingham Forest have joined the potential poker battle for the midfielder.

They explain that Forest are preparing for a potential departure of Orel Mangala and if he does depart, they could then move for Neuhaus.

According to their information the midfielder ‘absolutely wants to leave Gladbach’ because he is dissatisfied with his playing time and hasn’t been in the starting line up since the start of the year.

Gladbach’s sporting director Nils Schmadtke has insisted the player won’t be leaving and did so again at the weekend and Sky report that is only half true.

They state that Gladbach would actually allow Neuhaus to depart if a ‘suitable replacement’ could be found before the end of the window.

Who that could be isn’t mentioned but they believe that there is a ‘high probability’ that Neuhaus will move before February 1st and Nottingham Forest are very much in the mix for him.
