Aston Villa’s Àlex Moreno has been on loan at Nottingham Forest since last summer and the Reds have an option to make his stay permanent.
The left-back made 14 appearances for Nottingham Forest and played only one minute in last eight league matches.
Earlier this week, Estadio Deportivo reported the Aston Villa man would be delighted to leave Nottingham Forest for Real Betis.
La Razón also state the 31-year-old would be happy to return to the La Liga side in the winter market. He’s open to taking a pay cut to join Real Betis where he spent over three years between 2019 and 2023.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are negotiating with Aston Villa over a loan deal for the fullback, but the deal remains complicated. That’s because the ball is now in Nottingham Forest’s court, who have an option to buy him.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have to decide whether to retain Moreno until the end of his loan spell [without exercising the purchase option] or agree a deal with Aston Villa to cut short his stay in January.
The Spaniard’s deal at Aston Villa lasts until 2026 and they want him to have more game time in the second half of this season, in order to cash in from his sale in the summer.
To sum it up, Unai Emery’s side and Moreno are in favour of a move to Real Betis. It’ll be down to Nottingham Forest for the deal to take shape in this window.
