Nottingham Forest are considering bringing Gonzalo Montiel back to club, according to TyC Sports.
The Sevilla player was on loan at the Premier League side last season, where he clocked in 1,160 minutes from 19 matches.
Nottingham Forest decided against making the right-back’s stay permanent, forcing him to return to the La Liga side.
The Argentina international’s deal lasts until 2026, but his immediate future would be away from Sevilla. River Plate have been credited with an interest but TyC Sports say the 27-year-old has ruled out this option.
Montiel’s desire is to continue in Europe and Nottingham Forest could open their door again for him. It’s claimed the English club are considering ‘presenting an offer’ to buy him this summer.
The Andalusian club are in favour of a sale but will not accept a bid of less than €9m. It’s not mentioned whether Nottingham Forest are willing to meet Sevilla’s request for the Copa América winner.
Nuno Espírito Santo currently have Neco Williams and Ola Aina as the two right-backs in the squad.
Williams has been linked with a move to Italy and if he were to leave, Nottingham Forest can replace him with Montiel in this window.
