Nottingham Forest have ‘approached’ Mexican veteran Andres Guardado about a possible move this summer.
That’s according to TNT Sports Mexico reporter Raoul Ortiz, who says the Tricky Trees are one of a couple of teams to have contacted the 35-year-old.
Steve Cooper’s side have been extremely busy in this transfer window replacing the players who left the club at the end of last season following their promotion.
So far, they’ve brough in 16 new signings at a cost of £133.25m, making them one of the biggest spenders throughout Europe this summer.
They don’t look likely to slow down their business before the end of the window this month, with more new signings expected, and one of those could be Guardado.
He’s currently at Real Betis, who he joined from PSV Eindhoven in 2017, and signed a one-year contract extension with the Spanish club in March this year.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are in desperate need of funds, though, and would welcome departures if they can find them.
That might be something Nottingham Forest are looking to take advantage of, and Ortiz reports they have ‘approached’ Guardado about a potential move.
They are one of ‘a couple of teams’ to have shown an interest in the veteran, with an ‘important team from Spain’ also putting him on their radar.
For now, there is ‘nothing concrete’ from Nottingham Forest or any of the other suitors but that can always change quickly so Guardado may be a name to keep an eye on.
