Narrowly missing out on the playoffs due to a late collapse last season, Nottingham Forest decided to give Sabri Lamouchi another go.
A terrible start to the campaign, however, saw the Frenchman sacked after four games, replaced by Chris Hughton, who hasn’t exactly turned things around.
Twenty-three games in, Nottingham Forest find themselves 19th in the table, three points above the relegation zone with both QPR and Derby having a game in hand on them.
Add to that a tally of 16 goals in total in the league and it’s no surprise to see Hughton wanting attacking reinforcements in January.
One of their targets, according to Sports World Ghana, is Anderlecht’s Francis Amuzu, who is primarily a winger.
The 21-year-old has made 14 league appearances under Vincent Kompany this season for the Belgian side, assisting just once, although only half of those games have been starts.
He’s been in the first XI in the past four matches, helping Anderlecht win three of them, and the Ghanian player fits what Hughton is looking for.
It’s stated ‘an official approach has already been made’ by Nottingham Forest, ‘but Anderlecht are yet to respond as they are still studying the offer’.
If the Championship side want a quick and easy deal, there’s a €4m release clause in his contract, but it seems they are trying to get him for less.
