Over the summer, there was certainly a lot of movement around Alberth Elis, with it said the player could be sold to save Bordeaux’s finances.
Leeds United were reportedly among those interested, but the club’s president, Gérard Lopez, made it clear that while there were offers for the Honduras international, none of them were from the Elland Road side.
The interest from the Whites hasn’t gone away, however, with claims in England that Jesse Marsch is still keen to work with the forward.
This would be a subject for the January transfer window, which is in a few months, but with the World Cup currently taking place in Qatar, the stories have started a bit earlier than usual.
He said: “Yes, the president spoke about Alberth, but we’re not there yet. We’ll need to wait for January. It’s true that because it’s the break, you think there’s the winter transfer window coming, but no, that’s not for now. That’s for January.
“Between now and January, there are games to prepare. We’re slowly starting to think about [the window], but for now, there’s nothing set in stone.”
It seems Guion isn’t exactly thrilled at the idea of losing his forward, who has one goal in 12 Ligue 2 appearances to date this season.
Prior to Leeds’ interest, Elis was on loan with the French side from Boavista, before the move was made permanent for €6m in the summer.
