With Arsenal’s disappointing defeat to Manchester City last night, the players from Mikel Arteta’s side were clearly shaken by the result.

ESPN Brasil journalist Natalie Gedra managed to have a word with Gunners star Gabriel Jesus after the match, and despite feeling bad about the loss, the striker ended up sharing his hope that they could still win the Premier League title.

Gabriel Jesus started by sharing these positive thoughts, claiming Arsenal should focus on their upcoming games and wait to see what happens with Manchester City.

“Kind of difficult, however, nothing is lost, obviously. We know, it’s the Premier League, anything can happen from here until the end of the season. We know we’re ahead, however, they have two games in hand,” Gabriel Jesus told ESPN Brasil.

“We have to focus on our part, we got here by playing well, putting in effort, playing good games, creating situations, scoring goals, everyone together. That’s very important. Now it’s playing every game like a final, again. Unfortunately the last few games haven’t been the way we wanted them to be, however, nothing is lost.”

The Brazilian also highlighted the quality of his former club, saying Pep Guardiola’s side have the advantage of playing together for so long.

“Obviously it’s difficult, it’s not easy to compete with a team that has been playing together for a long time, one leaves, another enters, maintains or increases quality.”

“It’s difficult, but our team has been having a good season, obviously we are fighting for the title, and if it happens that we don’t win the titles, many out there think it’s a season that wasn’t worth it, however, we’re growing, we’re evolving. These last results weren’t the way we wanted, expected, however, now it’s time to focus, rest our head, especially for the next game.”

Jesus even tried to find the reasons Arsenal had such a bad match, claiming they haven’t been able to show the quality they’d been displaying this season.

“Our pace, our level that we have been demonstrating throughout the season was not the same, and we know that, we felt it after the game. We knew that our level of concentration, technical, tactical was not the same to play with such a well-organised team, who worked together for so long.

“Unfortunately, we weren’t able to play the same way we’ve been playing. Like it or not, a goal at the beginning destabilises us, anyway. Starting with me, the pressure at the front. But we tried our best, we ran after the result, but after a goal like that, we couldn’t impose our rhythm.”

As Arsenal now wait to see what happens with Manchester City’s matches, they don’t have an easy schedule either. The Gunners still face Chelsea, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
