Çağlar Söyüncü arrived at Leicester City from SC Freiburg in 2018 and struggled for minutes in his debut season in the Premier League.

Harry Maguire’s exit from the King Power Stadium last summer helped the centre-back feature regularly and it has given him an opportunity to impress with his displays.

Three days ago, his agent Mustafa Dogru told AS the 23-year-old could play for Barcelona next season.

The representative also stressed the La Liga winners’ interest in his client is not new as they wanted the Foxes defender when he was at second division Turkish club, Altınordu.

Journalist Miguel Rico, writing on the last page of today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo states there’s ‘nothing at all’ about the Catalan club’s interest in Brendan Rodgers’ man.

Söyüncü is represented by the same agency that manages the Barca duo of Marc-André ter Stegen and Moussa Wagué (on loan at OGC Nice), and Rico stressed the Leicester player has ‘never been’ and he will ‘never be’ on the Spanish champions’ radar.

Dogru also said Liverpool are the only club in the Premier League who could sign the Leicester player, while Paris Saint-Germain could also be an option for his client.

With an option to join Barca dismissed, Söyüncü’s representative could test the waters with the Reds and PSG.
