Roméo Lavia hasn’t yet made his debut for Chelsea since joining them from Southampton in the last window.

The midfielder has been sidelined with an ankle injury since September and at the start of this month, Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he cannot tell when he’ll be available for selection.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the Chelsea summer signing may not be fully fit until early December.

In mid-September, the Blues manager confirmed that Lavia suffered a serious setback. Since then, the newspaper says the midfielder has made progress and he no longer wears the protective gear around his ankle.

Despite this, HLN claim the Belgium international is ‘not yet ready to train’, and this will leave both the player and Chelsea frustrated.

It’s said Chelsea are treating his situation with caution and don’t expect Lavia to recover until the end of next month. In fact, the outlet says the west London club aren’t expecting the player to make his debut for them until December.

Lavia was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United in August. Apart from the Belgian, Christopher Nkunku is another player who hasn’t represented the Blues since joining them in the summer window.
