A week ago, we carried comments from Christian Eriksen, who said his future at Tottenham Hotspur is not under threat as he has over 18 months left on his contract with the north London club.
Two days ago, Tuttosport reported the Denmark international has already expressed his discontent with the Premier League outfit, which is why him signing a new deal with his current employer now seems unlikely… by their reckoning.
This is when the Italian newspaper mentioned that Juventus are looking at the former Ajax man, on the front page of their weekend edition.
The 26-year-old started for his national side during their goalless draw against Republic of Ireland on Monday and was asked about the recent speculation surrounding his future, which has seen him also being linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
“There are so many rumours. But you are journalists, so it’s your job to find out what’s right and wrong,” Eriksen was quoted as saying by Danish outlet BT.
When he was further quizzed if he is aware of the Juventus rumours, the Spurs star said: “No – not what I know at least.”
The longer Eriksen’s contract saga continues, there will be more reports linking him with a move away from Tottenham, something which Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino would be looking to avoid.
