Three days ago, SportBild reported Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s agent is offering him to other clubs. It was also stated his former club, Bayern Munich, are interested in bringing him back to Germany in the ongoing window.
The 27-year-old Tottenham player is currently with Denmark, preparing for the European qualifier against Slovenia on Monday.
On Sunday, the Tottenham player spoke to the Danish press, where he was directly asked about the reports linking him to the Bundesliga side. His comments are relayed by Ekstra Bladet.
“What’s lucky is that we play an international match tomorrow. So, my focus is there. What comes next is fortunately not in my hands,” he said.
“What I can focus on is what needs to be done tomorrow. I have spoken before about my time in Munich, but right now I have nothing to say about it.”
The Denmark international spent three years at Bayern before joining Southampton in 2016. Tottenham took him from the Saints in 2020 and offered him a five-year deal.
Højbjerg hasn’t won a trophy with Spurs and Ekstra Bladet question whether that makes him ‘seek new pastures’ in this window.
Over at Bild, they now state Højbjerg’s name was internally discussed at the German club by their sports committee. There’s indication his agent, Pini Zahavi, has been offering his client to other clubs.
As things stand, Bild say there’s a 25% chance of their former player moving back to Bayern in this window.
