The Catalan sport media are now talking on an almost daily basis about Barcelona’s interest in Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

On Wednesday it was claimed by Sport that Barcelona have already made contact with the Sweden international’s camp and that Isak would be keen on making the move to the Camp Nou. There was, however, an acceptance that Newcastle United will be asking for more than €100m and therefore it’s a difficult deal for Barcelona to go through with.

That makes a change to some of the more delusional claims last week which suggested €75m may do the trick.

Thursday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports on Isak interest again, explaining he’s seen as the best successor to Robert Lewandowski in the long term.

The Newcastle United star is even compared to former Barcelona player Samuel Eto’o, and it’s believed that the Blaugrana would want to offer players as part of a deal.

However, Mundo Deportivo explain Barcelona were thinking about names such as Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati, whereas it’s claimed Newcastle United want Raphinha.

The Brazilian is ‘not for sale’, with Barcelona making the most of him this season having struggled to do so initially.

There was a time when Barcelona were trying to push Raphinha towards the Premier League, but now there’s insistence he’s not on the agenda.
