It’s been nearly a year since the passing of Italian representative Mino Raiola. The death of the super agent, who had several big stars as his clients, introduced us to Rafaela Pimenta, who’s now the one who represents those footballers.
One of them is Manchester City star Erling Haaland, whose transfer to Pep Guardiola’s side last summer had already been handled by the Brazilian.
Pimenta has this week had a long conversation with Foot Mercato. It turned out to be a very interesting interview, because unlike most agents, she had a different way of speaking about each one of her clients.
And it turns out that one of the main quotes in that chat has to do with Erling Haaland. Pimenta was asked about the list of clients she now has, and she made sure to explain that each one of those players represent something different for her, using the Manchester City star as an example.
“One important thing: players for me are not objects. I am unable to say: ‘I have that’. I have nothing, they are my clients. In front of me I have a perfume, it belongs to me. Erling Haaland, he does not belong to me. He’s my client, he gave me his trust, I have to earn it every day, I have to be upright and discreet in everything that affects his life and his situation,” Rafaela Pimenta told Foot Mercato.
Back in November, Pimenta had already spoken to the Brazilian media saying she would soon announce Haaland’s new sponsorship deal. Now when quizzed by Foot Mercato about the future of her agency, she mentioned something similar, despite not naming the Manchester City player this time.
“Another positive thing within our agency, we will soon announce one of the biggest sponsorship contracts of this generation. Even two very big news at the sponsorship contract level. We’re going to talk about it a lot, it’s going to make people really happy, it’s going to be something historic…”
