With the January window creeping closer and closer, scouts will be trying to up their game to grant their clubs as much detail as possible to gain an advantage on the market over the competition.
That’s why we might start hearing more and more about clubs like Sheffield United and Norwich sending representatives around Europe in the next few months.
It’s already started over in France, as Mercato365 claim both the Blades and the Canaries will have a man present at Dijon’s clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Friday evening.
There aren’t specific targets mentioned, but, and we mean no disrespect by this, we doubt the Premier League sides will be there for anyone on the Parisian side of things.
While Daniel Farke and Chris Wilder would probably love to have Kylian Mbappé on their team, their respective scouts will likely be there for some Dijon players.
There’s a reliance on youth in Stéphane Jobard’s side, and the likes of Bryan Soumaré (an attacking midfielder) and Mounir Chouiar (a left winger) are likely to feature, with the latter of the two already attracting Premier League interest in the past.
Norwich are also in dire need for defenders, and someone like Nayef Aguerd, a 23-year-old centre-back who has featured regularly for Dijon so far this season could also be on their list.
Chelsea, Barcelona, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn are also expected to have scouts present at the game on Friday.
