Norwich City midfielder Lukas Rupp says he is feeling ‘really good’ at the club after his arrival in January.

The 29-year-old joined the Canaries in a £500,000 deal from Hoffenheim during the winter window as Daniel Farke looked to strengthen his squad.

He’s quickly found himself as a first-team regular since making six appearances in the Premier League and starting their FA Cup wins over both Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s undoubtedly an experience he’s enjoying, insisting that people have written his new team off too early.

“(It’s a nice little town with about 50,000 inhabitants, quite comparable to Heidelberg,” he told Kicker.

“I really feel comfortable here. Everyone is writing us off, but we can still keep our place in the league, especially as we are still playing against three direct rivals.

“And in all our games so far we have never been without a chance and could have scored every time.

“It was the right decision to move here; I’m glad that I’m allowed to gain these experiences”.

Rupp finds himself among familiar faces at Norwich, with several former Bundesliga players and already teammates at the club.

It’s a similar story across the league, with former Bundesliga players turning out for clubs up and down the division.

One of those is Newcastle United striker Joelinton, who Rupp played with at Hoffenheim before he joined the Magpies in a £40m deal in the summer.

His time at St James Park has not been a happy one, with him managing just three goals and four assists in 34 games so far.

Rupp has been watching from afar and believes Newcastle’s tactics are to blame for the striker’s struggles.

“He really has a tough time there,” he added.

“They play a 5-4-1, park the bus in front of his own goal and Joelinton has to struggle pretty much on his own at the front.
