Even though Anthony Martial isn’t having the best time at Manchester United, it was still surprising to see his agent take to the media on Friday and say the player wants to leave the club in January.
It now becomes obvious that the Red Devils and his representative will look for options in the winter transfer window, and reports from Spain already suggest a destination for him.
Fichajes features a story saying it’s ‘no secret’ that Martial ‘is one of the big desires’ that Barcelona have for the January market.
It’s claimed that the Catalan side already tried to sign the player on a loan deal in the summer, but weren’t able to convince Manchester United, and now see a ‘totally different situation’.
Fichajes writes that Barcelona could offer Martial the importance he hasn’t been getting at Manchester United, even though it isn’t clear if their attempt to get him now would be on a loan deal once again.
Playing for the Old Trafford side this season, the Frenchman has one goal in ten appearances. It now looks like not even the change in management has given him new hope of succeeding at the club.
