While Watford have been a bit hit and miss this season, to say the least, their loan players have been doing rather well for themselves.

Luis Suárez is the perfect example of this, with the striker currently shining out on loan with Spanish side Real Zaragoza.

The 22-year-old has 16 goals in 29 games in all competitions so far, a total that makes him the joint second top goalscorer in La Liga 2.

He’s earned plenty of praise for his performances as a result, with some reports suggesting that several La Liga teams are keen on taking him from Watford.

Watford themselves are thought to be keen on reintegrating him into the squad, with reports suggesting he’s set for a significant pay rise at Vicarage Road next season.

That remains to be seen, but according to Zaragoza’s sporting director Lalo Arantegui, the decision will be solely Watford’s.

“The owner of the player is Watford,” he told AS.

“The relationship between clubs is magnificent, but we have no power over it. It will be a decision that Watford makes.

“Obviously, in the second division, we have no chance, and in the first division, it will be a decision taken by Watford.

“I know they have him for next year, but there is plenty of time for that decision, and we’ll see what happens.”
