The situation around Franck Kessie has been causing anger and annoyance at AC Milan months, as he continues at the club without a new contract.
In the summer, the midfielder had made comments about being happy at the Rossoneri and explained he was committed to the club. That reasonably gave fans the assumption he wanted to renew his contract, however, when it came to actually doing so he was reluctant.
The 25-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and he’s therefore going to be available on a free transfer unless something changes.
Tottenham Hotspur and PSG were the clubs most linked to Kessie when the situation started, and it would appear Antonio Conte’s side and the French club remain in the picture.
The €6.5m will be wages after tax per year, and it would seem that no club so far has been willing to go beyond that. Tottenham, therefore, appear to be a relatively good position in the race, and it will now depend on what Kessie and his advisors want, unless another club decides to go higher.
