Laurens de Bock’s transfer to Leeds United in the last transfer window is being questioned in the Belgian media, despite the player only being at his new club a matter of weeks.
De Bock signed a four and half year deal with Leeds United in January, after arriving from Club Brugge.
Voetbalkrant have reported on De Bock’s move to Elland Road saying his transfer has been ‘no gigantic success’ so far. Since joining the Championship side De Bock has seen the club struggle somewhat, which has put a dent in their promotion ambitions.
A reason for De Bock joining Leeds United was due to the lack of chances he was getting at Brugge, but Voetbalkrant point out the left back isn’t guaranteed a place at the Championship club either.
However, he missed the games against Brentford, Middlesbrough and Wolves, before being drafted back into the team last weekend against Reading.
Obviously it’s early days for De Bock and his first couple of months in England hasn’t been helped by Leeds United’s poor form.
The player still needs to adapt to the English style of football, and should be able to kick on next season.
