Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso has struggled with poor form and fitness this season.
The attacking midfielder has been restricted to only two league starts as two different injuries stopped him from featuring regularly for Spurs.
Since Antonio Conte arrived at the north London club last November, he featured in the manager’s first game in charge against Everton and was then sidelined with injuries for the rest of that year.
The 25-year-old regained full fitness in January and was restricted to only 23 minutes of action in the league. In order to regain prominence, the Argentina international joined Villarreal on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Lo Celso is joined by two of his compatriots, Juan Foyth and Gerónimo Rulli, at the Spanish club.
Today’s edition of Super Deporte has an interview with Rulli, in which he talked about his own performances and also the form Unai Emery’s side have enjoyed in the league this season.
The goalkeeper was then quizzed about Lo Celso signing in January. Responding to that, Rulli said: “No doubt he will contribute a lot. Gio will give us a plus as a team, and help us improve.
“I don’t reveal anything by saying who Gio is. He is a top player in the world. I know the kind of person he is and also his talent as a player, a starter with Argentina. I hope he fits [in] easily.”
